Shivaun Weybury

Dr Shivaun Weybury is NIEA Research Associate. She is working on the development of a large-scale research project that will extend the concerns of HotHouse and consolidate NIEA’s commitment to the intersections between art/design, political ecology and urban sustainability. As Manager of the Centre for Contemporary Art & Politics from 2006-2009, she coordinated numerous seminars, international residencies and conferences, and pursued her own research on art, political ecology and constructions of paradise in contemporary Chinese culture. Her last research trip involved intensive fieldwork in South-Western China and Tibet, the results of which are being prepared for publication. Dr Weybury has been teaching at UNSW since 2001, and received a Carrick Award for her contribution to student learning in 2006.
